# A continent-scale partnership for AMT education

Today AMTIL is announcing a multi-country partnership with three regional aviation maintenance training organizations across West and Southern Africa. The partnership covers curriculum localization, instructor exchange, and joint accreditation pathways for Part 147 equivalency.

What is in scope

- Curriculum localization — AMTIL's core AMT curriculum adapted for regulatory frameworks recognized by the AFCAC member states. First cohort begins Q3. - Instructor exchange — Six AMTIL instructors will spend rotational quarters at partner institutions. Six instructors from partner institutions will be embedded in the AMTIL hangar. - Joint accreditation pathway — A shared assessment framework so a student credentialed at any of the four institutions is recognized at the others. This is the harder problem; we are taking it seriously.

Why this matters

The global AMT shortage is loudest in the United States and Europe, but the structural opportunity is on the African continent — where the median age of new aviation entrants is the lowest in the world, the regulatory bodies are actively investing in capacity, and the economic case for becoming an AMT is strong. AMTIL's role is to make the educational path measurably easier and the credential portable.

We will share partner names, country breakdowns, and intake numbers in a follow-up post next week as the partner-side announcements clear their local press. If you are a regulator, training organization, or operator interested in joining the second wave, reach out via the contact form at amtil.co/contact.
